EXPECTATIONS
**YOU MUST fill in as much as possible ON CASTINGMANAGER.COM. FILL OUT ALL CONTACT AND SCHEDULE CONFLICTS ON CASTING MANAGER** This should be free to use! You should NEVER have to enter a card number!

**Be courteous: If you're feeling under the weather, please wear your MASK.  Follow PHYSICAL DISTANCING rules. Use provided SANITIZERs upon building entry. Reschedule if you know yourself to be contagious.**

~If you're unable to register through Casting Manager, you'll need to arrange a time by texting 810-334-6415, even if it's last minute, we'll need to plan a space for you.

-Choosing monologues and songs that show your range from the show you're auditioning for will give the audition panel the best idea of placement.

~Choose your favorite monologue to present your best self to the audition panel is always welcome! These can be from the show you're auditioning for or from something else that you feel strongly represents your range.
-Preference is a 60 second comedy, and a 60 second dramatic.
-If auditioning for a musical role (yes, these appear in non-musicals!), please prepare a song piece that best demonstrates your range, preferably from that show or in the same style.

-If you need a cold read, they will be on hand for each show. Take your time to choose and go over the cold read before you enter the audition room. The reason directors don't like cold reads is because people treat them like reading tests and forget we're looking for acting skills.

-Combat Choreography for The Hobbit will be at callbacks on Sunday, May 25th.

~Time with audition panel is limited to 5 minutes. We typically have a lot of people to see so we need to respect the schedule to give everyone their shot.

~Build your profile on CastingManager.com
    - It's free to you and gives us quick access to your headshot, resume, and conflict schedule after you've gone. **YOU MUST fill in as much as possible  to help us cast you** We also send callback information and updates through this system so you must share your profile with us in order to be notified. If you struggle with technology, text us with your preferred time slot, then come early and we’ll help you build your profile while you wait for your audition.

~If you wish to audition, but cannot make audition dates, please submit a video audition and fill out EVERY possible piece on your CastingManager profile. It is much more difficult to cast you, especially if you cannot make callbacks for us to see you with other auditioners, but if a video is needed, please submit through the site or through the ESR Facebook Messenger.

SUMMER 2026

MAY 8-24
Antigone
by Sophocles, Translated by Dudley Fitts & Robert Fitzgerald;
Director: Kaylee Loxton

Greek Tragedy; Description: Thebes' civil war has ended. Creon, the ascending king, proclaims, "Regarding the bodies of the sons of Oedipus: Eteocles, a hero who fought for Thebes…will be given a hero's burial…But for Polyneices who recruited foreign troops to attack our home—let his corpse rot under the sweltering sun, food for the birds and the dogs…Anyone who dares to bury the enemy will be publicly executed." So begins this adaptation of Antigone, who battles Creon, her uncle, for the right in God's name to bury her dead brother, Polyneices, but loses that fight in a horrifying conclusion to this story. Antigone is usually seen as the righteous heroine while Creon is the hated villain. However, in this version, we take a fresh look at Antigone's own rigidity as an equal contributor to this story's devastating ending. Viewed as a contest between equally determined and fierce competitors, both right and both wrong, the play is an intense examination of the questions: "How can one penetrate the absolute certainty and righteousness of political or religious leaders who refuse to listen?" "What happens when neither side in a conflict agrees to yield?" "What happens when one sees the catastrophic consequences of one's actions too late?" The path taken here—vengeance will breed vengeance—is a shattering lesson for our times.

JULY 10-26
*Trail To Oregon
Book - Jeff Blim, Nick Lang, Matt Lang; Additional Writing - Brian Holden
Music - Jeff Blim; Additional Music - Drew DeFour; Starkid
Director: Sami Jex

Historical Musical Comedy; Description: The Trail to Oregon is an adult comedy musical loosely based off of the classic video game "The Oregon Trail". We follow a pioneer family as they face many challenges on their journey such as the Bandit King, lobsters with grudges, a very horny ox, and a whole lot of dysentery. The audience will have the opportunity to take the reins of this story and make decisions that will lead to hilarious outcomes. No two shows are the same! WARNING: Adult language, adult situations, but most importantly, a whole lot of dysentery.

AUGUST 6-23
(Special open Thurs for 10 yr at TCS, **potential MV Park August 1 & 2)
Will On the Water: As You Like It
by William Shakespeare, edited by Regina Spain
Director: Regina Spain

Comedy; Description: As You Like It follows its heroine Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle's court, accompanied by her cousin Celia to find safety and, eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden. In the forest, they encounter a variety of memorable characters, notably the melancholy traveler Jaques, who speaks one of Shakespeare's most famous speeches ("All the world's a stage") and provides a sharp contrast to the other characters in the play, always observing and disputing the hardships of life in the country.
